Our church is open all day, every day and visitors are welcome at all times. The building is a resource to be used by locals and visitors alike for spiritual refreshment and development. The peaceful atmosphere at St Mark’s makes it an excellent place for silent prayer and meditation.
Services
We meet at 9.30am on the third Sunday of the month for Northumbrian Morning Prayer and Holy Communion (ext) and on the fifth Sunday of the month we hold a 2.30pm Taizé Service. See upcoming services and events below.

On Friday 15 July the Revd Canon Robert Saner-Haigh was consecrated as Bishop of Penrith in York Minster.
Thank you to our wonderful and hardworking churchwardens who gathered at St Mary’s Church, Kirkby Lonsdale, on Monday 11 July 2022 for the annual Admission of Churchwardens service.
We had a great turnout for our Songs of Praise service celebrating the 175th anniversary of St Mark’s Church on the 24th April 2022, with people travelling from Sedbergh, Dent, Kendal and even Shropshire to attend. Follow the link for photos and more!
